Whilst Wycombe is not in Oxfordshire the bus operations in the two towns became linked in enthusiast circles because Go-Ahead ran a large number of services in both towns, whilst their main operating area was the north east of England. Go-Ahead branded the operations in the two towns the Oxford Bus Company and the Wycombe Bus Company respectively, but sold The Wycombe Bus Company to local competitor Arriva in December 2000. Arriva quickly repainted the fleet into their corporate livery, absorbing the services into their existing Shires & Essex subsidiary.
